MK's 1100+ square foot High-End portrait studio, is conveniently located just 5 minutes from downtown Petersburg, West Virginia. We are approx. 1.5 hrs. from Winchester VA, and 2.5 hrs. from the area of D.C. Metro area, come spend the day in beautiful WV!

The studio offers not only state-of-the-art studio lighting but also Amazing one-of-a-kind Natural Lighting, with three large floor-to-ceiling windows. You will also find in our studio a built barn with raw barn wood, a faux brick wall, and a beautiful white home interior wall ... these are NOT backdrops, these are fully built sets that are a " MUST SEE !"

Mellissa Kay " MK ", started her studio in 2004 after the birth of her son, Johnathan. At that time her studio was in the basement of her VA home. It was a perfect fit after being in the orthodontic field for 15 years. But, it was time to staying home to enjoy motherhood and return to her " Art Roots " by going back into photography. It wasn't until the birth of her daughter Grace in 2005, she and her husband Jeff decided to move back to his hometown of Petersburg. It was then that her professional High-End Portrait Studio was built beside her home.

MK's photographic portfolio spans over two decades of work. From High-End runway photography to weddings, corporations, babies, seniors, and families. Now, in her early 50's she found passion in helping women EMPOWER themselves through, " Boudoir " thus now BoudiorbyMK.

She has also taught, "Basic Photography 101 Classes at Eastern Tech School" and in her studio with private event classes! Her work has been in many WV Wedding, Living and Business magazines. She has also worked with many corporate companies and has even had her work printed globally.
